South Africans may have noticed that there have been a number of new players that have come into the banking sector. With all the options presented by this competition in the industry, how do customers ensure that all banks conduct themselves in line with the sector's acceptable standards? The Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA) is the Authority responsible for supervising the way financial institutions, including banks, treat their customers. Earlier this year, the FSCA published a set of standards that outlined how the conduct of banks would be monitored, a necessary step in an industry that constantly has to change and improve how it services its customers.
