Prime Time With Ravish: Jewar Farmers Persuaded To Give Up Their Lands Forced To Live In Shanties

Prime Time With Ravish Kumar - November 23, 2021: On Prime Time, a special report on the condition of farmers from Jewar region in Uttar Pradesh who are yet to receive adequate compensation for the lands they had to give up for the construction of Jewar International Airport. According to the farmers, most of them were made to evacuate from their homes even before they were rehabilitated in concrete dwellings under the land acquisition laws. Many of them are forced to live in huts and tents till they are resettled. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone for the Noida International Airport on Thursday. The airport is being developed in public-private partnership (PPP) mode and is touted to be the biggest airport in India upon completion. It is being developed by Yamuna International Airport Private Limited (YIAPL), a 100 per cent subsidiary of Zurich International Airport AG, the Swiss concessionaire of the project. (Audio in Hindi)
