Police Shooting Occurs After Suspect Chokes Mother & Attempts To Stab Her
LAPD Released Bodycam Footage of an Officer Involved Shooting that occurred On October 13, 2021, around 5:50 a.m. LAPD officers responded to calls reporting the suspect, later identified as Carlos Arias, threatening a female family member with a knife. The Family member was later identified to be the suspects mother. Bodycam from responding officers shows them approaching the apartment where Arias and the mother were, they heard the mother yelling in distress. After seeing the suspect physically grab the mother from an opening in a window, Officers forced entry into the apartment. Bodycam shows Arias armed with a knife, swinging it at his mother, at that time there was an Officer-Involved Shooting.
Arias was struck by gunfire and transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The knife Arias was armed with was recovered at scene.
The mother, was not injured & no officers were injured during the incident.
